Our first music video was for virgin paris and the french band SIN.

it was also the first time I got paid to direct something!

the band, singer vincent brunello, recall records ceo’s, lesie dubest and alex sap, and virgin paris video commissioner, ema grenier, gave us a lot of freedom on this job. the band didn’t wish to appear and felt it would be stronger as a stand alone film.

shooting in two disused hospitals (including severe psychiatric wards) within london was an experience in itself. most memorable moment. spotting a pile of teeny tiny children's crutches leaning in the corner of a dark damp room in the basement.

highly disturbing.

SIN had been likened by the music press to Nine Inch Nails, which was actually pretty complementary as a description, but because of the band’s youth one journalist coined the phrase, Four and a Half Inch Nails.

A number of weeks following its release on French TV, the video was deemed a little too disturbing and banned from day time viewing which ended up adding to its attraction somewhat.
