So the new stenmix is finally here...

the rumors were out there. would sten ever finish?

could he possibly top his last 10 out of 10 masterpiece?

and the $64,000 question, would it all be worth it?

6 months in the making and only weekends and available time away from the day job to craft this new venture into dubstep territory and all this reviewer can think of is why doesn’t stenmix give up the day job? ben’s plot is nothing short of a work of genius. I should know, I’ve already listened to it 53 times and I’ve yet to tire. I can’t quite understand how I could be discovering new things even after this many listens? one of life’s mysteries like who killed the Kennedy's and did man really go to the moon.

its just so rich and complex and satisfying you have the impression your immune system is being pumped with alien vitamins labelled with letters like X and Z.

so what’s it like?

well, imagine if you will, Lucifer dropping ecstasy at the gates of hell and then dubstepping his way through the entire length of Dante’s Inferno and you still wouldn’t even  be close to understanding the moves on this boy. stenmix has conjured up a black mass of the purest white magic.

its addictive stuff this white magic, like milk laced with drugs. is it vellocet (opiate), synthemesc (synthetic mescalines), or drencrom (adrenochrome)? nobody really knows except perhaps one person. mood swings? you got it. like swinging upon a planetary sized Foucault’s pendulum. there’s no getting off once you’re on.

stenmix somehow manages to bring elemental forces of energy from the guttural depths of the universe. the words “deep” and “bass” require redefining in their standard dictionary entries, and you might as well re-write a definition of rhythm whilst you’re at it.

with Ben’s Plot we’ve entered a whole new game of cavernous crystalline structures of digital electronic perfection, masterminded by stenmix and designed just for you.

this is the sound of a future place and words alone have become superfluous and inadequate. you simply must listen, and experience and then probably obey the master of rhythm and mood that has become synonymous with stenmix.

WHO OR WHAT IS  S T E N M I X ?

S T E N M I X  is the stage name of DJ | REMIXER | MUSIC RESEARCHER and all round audio astronaut.

Former drummer, percussionist, and music enthusiast, Stenmix threw away his drum sticks and sold his kit a long time ago and replaced them with digital computer based equipment and mixing gear.

Always a sharp and contemporary ear for music, Stenmix continues to trawl through the matrix of EDM and beyond for the most cutting-edge, powerful and hypnotic tracks on the intraweb. He then matches beats, alters tempo, chops and mutates the material, layers stuff on top and intercuts new samples to create seamless voyages into sound and rhythm.

The result deserves to be heard carefully, ideally with headphones Sten recommends, but at a fairly loud volume and with successive listens. Sten’s requests are not a hard-ask, because his material draws you in and entices you listen intently with pleasure. Audio quality is exceptionally high and works through well any system.

Great taste meets great ideas, embellished with solid crafting and mixing.
