ATANASIO + MARTINEZ DIRECT NICOLE KIDMAN FOR M&C SAATCHI AND ETIHAD’S FLYING REIMAGINED CAMPAIGN


Abu Dhabi, UAE (March, 2015) -- Directorial team Anthony Atanasio + Valerie Martinez have directed Oscar winner Nicole Kidman for M&C Saatchi’s new campaign for Etihad Airways and Flying Reimagined.


A massive three country shoot included sections shot in Marseille, Prague, and Abu Dhabi including extensive filming upon Etihad’s brand new Airbus A380.


The campaign was premiered in Abu Dhabi with a live interview with Nicole Kidman and the attendance of the World press.


Featured in Campaign’s Ad of the Day and a 5 Star review in David’s review as well as mentions in global press including The Guardian and the NYTimes, its been almost impossible to miss this spot. Produced by Trent Simpson through Thomas Thomas, London.


Nicole Kidman and Atanasio + Martinez have since developed a relationship and they are currently looking for material to pursue in a feature film capacity.

ATANASIO + MARTINEZ SHOOT NEW DIESEL CAMPAIGN WITH LIAM HEMSWORTH


Los Angeles, USA (May, 2015) -- Hot on the heels of their successful Nicole Kidman shoot for Etihad, husband and wife directorial team Anthony Atanasio + Valerie Martinez have directed the new Diesel campaign featuring rising Hollywood star, Liam Hemsworth.


Shot exclusively on location in downtown LA for agency Fred Farid, this ambitious spot resembles a mini Hollywood feature with its big in-camera special effects and spectacular locations. Produced by Thierry Bettas Begalin through Bandits, Paris.

Etihad Airways will reveal an exclusive virtual reality film starring Academy Award winning actress Nicole Kidman and once again directed by commercial directors Anthony Atanasio + Valerie Martinez


The innovative fully-immersive film, which marks the first time a Hollywood actor has starred in a virtual reality film, is a major accomplishment for the airline, and will allow viewers to experience its revolutionary Airbus A380, which includes The Residence - the airline’s ultra-luxurious and private three-room suite.

ATANASIO + MARTINEZ DIRECT SPECTACULAR NEW GLOBAL CAMPAIGN


Atanasio + Martinez have directed a spectacular new global campaign film for Whirlpool starring Russian goddess Viktoria Bogoslavtceva, dozens of cast, and hundreds of extras.


The visually stunning film was shot over a four day period in the beautiful Uruguayans city of Montevideo and features in-camera scenes designed to take your breath away. Rooftop stunts, rooftop sets and on-location special visual effects have literally taken Whirlpool to new heights.


JWT Milan once again chose the directing duo ATANASIO + MARTINEZ to creatively helm this huge project through their production company representation Movie Magic.


The international crew reunited the talents of longtime ATANASIO + MARTINEZ collaborators including French Director of Photographer Patrick Duroux, Argentinian Production Designer Ernesto Molina y Vedia, and Californian 1stAD Ryan Lippert.


Technically speaking the film was shot with one of only three cameras of its type in the world. The super rare new RED Weapon 8K VistaVision was bought in from Paris by DP Patrick Duroux careof Paris Camera Rental House RVZ. The camera was paired with a mix of re-housed Mamiya Medium Format lenses and a set of yet to be released Otus lenses from Ziess.

BOLLY WOULD - MARUTI SUZUKI ARENA - VARUN DHAWAN


Atanasio + Martinez have directed the new campaign for Maruti Suzuki Arena featuring Bollywood superstar, Varun Dhawan. The script from Dentsu Impact New Delhi was shot entirely on location in Raipur with Sitting Duck Productions. The spot uses a fast cutting musical approach and rhyming dialogue synced to a racy rhythmic track and a dynamic sense of timing. Varun leads us through whilst showing off the attributes of the new Maruti Suzuki Arena Showrooms.


Varun Dhawan is one of the biggest stars working in Indian cinema. With over 36 Million followers on Instagram one of our biggest challenges was security. The production had to erect a 5m fence around the entire location because if word got out that this superstar was live, there would have been a potential stamped!. This young man took it all in his stride and remained confident and professional throughout.

ATANASIO + MARTINEZ USE HYDROGEN POWER FOR TOYOTA MIRAI


Atanasio + Martinez have joined forces with Saatchi & Saatchi LA and directed the new campaign for the spectacular Mirai, Toyota’s new Hydrogen Powered prototype and the campaign titled Lead the Way. This spot marks the first project with their new US representation, Logan & Sons, and under executive producer Paul Abatemarco.


The concept was bold. Reverse the world, its going in the wrong direction. One car will lead the way. Not just any car. A revolutionary car. A hydrogen powered car. The Mirai from Toyota is that car.


Reversing the World... How did we do it? How do we make the world go in reverse and the Mirai be the only thing in that world going forwards?


Atanasio + Martinez proposed that the solution was to reverse the problem. We couldn’t get all the people and all the cars and all the birds and planes to choreograph themselves in reverse, but maybe just maybe, with the right driver we could get the Mirai to go in reverse and then reverse the whole sequence, effectively reversing the world with the Mirai now being the only thing traveling in the correct direction.


We needed the right driver for such a task and he came in the form of Hollywood stunt driving legend, Greg Tracy. Greg was wonderful to work with and he entertained our crazy toy-car reenactments to help design the choreography for a forwards/backwards ballad of people and cars in realtime. Not as obvious as it may seem! Thankfully Logan Post and Stephan Kosinski and his team helped immensely by crafting an incredibly precise Pre-viz based upon our storyboard and direction.


Our brilliant cast of talent did a sterling job of bringing this spot to life. Thank you to actors Bahia Gold and Justin Wade and the rest of the cast.

THERE BE WHALES HERE - HUAWEI - PLATO


Our first big commercial for China features a stunning 8K Smart TV from HUAWEI, fully loaded with artificial intelligent features and a stunningly emotional level of picture and sound quality.


This complex and ambitious shoot, mixing live-action with 3D and CG was initially planned to be shot on location and in studios in Shanghai. However as the onset of the COVID pandemic kicked-in, plans changed and we found ourselves heading for Bangkok and Thailand instead. A three day shoot mixed location, studio, and water tank components with an entire underwater filming unit. It was challenging but we made it happen despite the problems thrown up by intense traffic congestion and managed to pull it off with the help of our excellent DP Patrick Duroux, our local Production Designer Thongchai Sittirak (aka Whay), and a fantastic local team of production specialists not forgetting the wonderful Red Horse Films Production team from Shanghai consisting of Livia Zhang, Yun, H, Afra, and Tiffany. And not forgetting our excellent agent, Lynne Loo at D-Films.


Some of the best 3D and CG we’ve ever seen was accomplished by Chinese post who did an amazing job.


The Director’s Cut should be finalised in the near future.

ATANASIO + MARTINEZ AD-UP FOR H&R BLOCK


Atanasio + Martinez have directed a new campaign for H&R Block through Logan & Sons using locations in Downtown LA and Westlake Village. These charming spots feature a range of single characters and simple visual storytelling to reinforce the campaign concept that H&R Block do Taxes for ‘small’ businesses.


Creative Director Doug Pederson and copywriter Matt Waronker at CARMICHAEL LYNCH MINNEAPOLIS came up with these elegant and amusing boards and a great cast helped breathe magic into the stories.


The campaign will air in early 2022.
